This new hotel is a redevelopment of two protected structures, one was formerly a town house built in 1860 and the other was an industrial warehouse dating back to 1870, both buildings were in a dilapidated condition on commencement. The concept is to redevelop this unique complex by drawing on the existing buildings’ inherent character. A vertical two storey extension is sensitively inserted above the former warehouse, resulting in a ve storey building with a two storey basement. This new extension, treated with a corten steel nish, plays on the industrial character of the Dockland’s Heritage. In contrast, minimal intervention is proposed to the former townhouse and therefore, it is to be reinstated with a public house on the ground oor and luxury hotel rooms above. Consisting of 60 hotel rooms, co-working spaces, conferencing facilities, cafe, public house and a rooftop restaurant and bar, this exciting new Boutique Hotel will serve the demands of the Dockland’s rapid growth.
